Unique from the roots
MCT Mitchell Cotts is unique. Established in the 1960's manufacturing industrial fans under the Alldays Peacock brand name, the company grew quickly and moved from Birmingham to Weston-super-Mare.
In 1968/69, Alldays Peacock, began working for the Ministry Of Defence and diversified its activity into providing remanufactured engines and other powertrain components. Following the success of this, the company rapidly expanded its service to 'remanufacture' for Vauxhall.
Achievements:
- Automotive driveline suppliers to the major OEM's since 1965
- Opel Pan European Contract awarded in 2002
- ISO 14001 in 2003
- Awarded Land Rover Discovery OE-aftermarket contract in 2003
- TS16949 accredited 2006
- Volvo remanufacturing programme awarded 2007
The company, now well- established, maintained and developed its reputation as a leading remanufacturer in the automotive sector and transformed into the progressive organisation of today, known as MCT Mitchell Cotts Ltd.
Having gained a wider customer base, in 1978, the company commenced 'remanufacturing' for Ford and in the '80s both Colt UK (Mitsubishi) and Hyundai selected MCT Mitchell Cotts for engine and gearbox remanufacturing. At the end of the '90s other key customer programmes were introduced: remanufacturing of convoy gearboxes for Multipart/LDV and manufacturing / remanufacturing of transfer boxes for Unipart/Land Rover.
With an impressive pace, from the year 2000 many other top automotive OEMs such as Subaru and Izusu, Proton, Opel/ GM group, Caterham and Volvo selected MCT Mitchell Cotts due to its solid industry credentials, its reputation for quality and service and its powertrain capabilities ranging from engineering to manufacturing to remanufacturing.
What had been initially established as a centre of excellence for 'remanufacturing', has ultimately developed into a proven partner for manufacturing, remanufacturing and turnkey component sourcing for the world leading Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) in the automotive industry.
